blanco 750ml

Blanco

Dos Volcanes 100% Agave Spirits
Colima Highlands 2014 - Blanco
750ml and 375ml

"The Blanco, or unaged version, to my mind, is almost perfect. Very soft in flavor, with a characteristic lightly green, fruity scent, it has all the flavor of agave, without noticeable heat. In this sense it really is a “vino de mezcal” that could be drunk very nicely with food."

"Appearance is crystalline, brilliant silver highlights with medium body. Intense roast agave on the nose. Green, vegetal aromas balance nicely with pear notes. Mouthfeel is mildly velvety. Strong, pleasant agave presence in the mouth. Finishes into numbing star-anise flavor and lingers. A nice, long finish."

reposados

Reposado

Dos Volcanes 100% Agave Spirits
Colima Highlands 2014 - Reposado
Aged 10 months in French limousin oak wine barrels
750ml and 375ml

For me, when I taste the Reposado, I get a 3 Musketeers bar which melts away smoothly. If I swish it around a bit, I expose black peppercorn and a bright earthy finish that’s somewhat reminiscent of the smell of soil after the rain. All of which I find extremely pleasant. Being an agave geek I always appreciate a good blanco but I absolutely love how the barrel aging on the reposado extracts and strengthens the intrinsic chocolate malt of the spirit.

Boasting a whole lot of character this has bold notes of cinnamon spice agave nectar and is driven by a Cognac-like elegance.
